Today was our Anniversary, we had a good time. I barbarqued chicken and zuchini, Debbie made Fried green tomatoes. We ate out on the deck (that's where Jessica wanted to eat) and it was a nice night. I have put some photos in my Web Album, here is the link. http://picasaweb.google.com/kdmay50/AnniversaryPICS# , as you can see I caught Jessica eating watermelon, that was for dessert, she was having a blast. After dinner Jessica asked me if she could take some pictures and that is what the others are, she is getting really good at using the camera. After everything was cleaned up and Jessica finished taking pictures, we went out back to catch fireflies. Jessica has a bug catcher that she was putting them in. She was really cute, calling them little buddy, and don't be afraid, it's only Jessica. After she caught a few we opened up the bug catcher and watched them fly away, she said goodbye buddy to all of them.
Sorry for not musing sooner, it's been a bit crazy at work, and with Jessica's schedule. But I will try to update more often.

This Week
I took Jessica over to Blockbuster Video on Monday so she could rent a movie or two. We went looking for BOLT and found it in the store (return pile). We watched that the first night (Tuesday), then she watched it again yesterday, I think she liked "Rhino" (Hamster), he is really funny. We watched "The Incredibles" last night and she fell asleep before the end of the movie, (this is not like her, she must have been wore out from the day's activities).
When I got home I worked out in the yard, raking, picking up, etc. She was right there helping me the whole time.
Jessica showed her "B" some of the things she does in Dance Class. I took some video's and will upload them as soon as I can.
That's all for now.

Mid Week
Jessica goes home today, she has been really good and very imaginative this week. Last night, I built her a sail boat (chair, yard sticks, tape, blanket) and she had a blast the rest of the night. She was "Driving" her sailboat with the aid of a little steering wheel (play toy), and it was so funny to hear her throughout this whole episode. After the sail boat (or during the middle of it), she decided to stop at Grandma and Grandpa's house (don't ask), where Grandpa was BBQ,ng a meatloaf (and no Grandpa was not me). It all sounded good.
Jessica is not really into Dancing with the Stars this season, she does watch some of it, and we did do some dancing on Monday, but most of the time during the show, she wants to either play on the computer, or do something else. She still has her favorites (girls with real pretty dresses usually get on the list) and ones that she does not like at all.
Monday and Tuesday we went for a walk/ride (I walk, she rides her bike) around the school so I could get some exercise, since it was warm outside.
That's all for now.

Kite Flying
Jessica and I went up to Signal Hill Park to Fly a kite on Monday, we had just enough wind to keep the kite aloft. She had a lot of fun running back and forth trying to catch the tail of the kite, and also flying the kite.
"B" and Jessica did "homework" yesterday. Sue sent up these books and one was a see and find book (not actually sure if that is what it is called, but) and she found all of the items that were called out on each page.
When Mom, Jackie, Chad and Deanie were here, Chad and Deanie bought a couple of books for both girls, one of the books was titled "Chicken Cheeks", Jessica loves that book, I almost have to read it every night.
Duff and Jackie bought both of the girls a game called Hulabalo (spelling), and Jessica really likes to play the game, Jocelyn also likes the game and we have played it with both of them, it is really fun and not very long.
Jessica and "B" have been playing UNO (the kids version). Yesterday, Jessica won alot more games than "B" did, but they both had fun.
That's all for now.

This weekend
Debbie and I went to the movies this weekend (Saturday), we saw "Gran Torino", the latest and last Clint Eastwood movie. We both thought it was a very good movie and the ending was totally unexpected. We both recommend it highly.
We had a good weekend, Debbie and I bought Jessica some summer clothes this weekend. We are looking for some things for Jocelyn, but so far the girly stuff is on sale. We bought Jessica some dresses and some skorts. We showed them to her when Josh brought her by last night, she was ecstatic. Debbie is going to have her try them on today to see which ones she really likes and which ones she does not like or does not fit good.
I am going to BBQ again tonight. I found a recipe for Grilled tomatoes that sound real good. Leave a comment if you want the recipe. I am also going to grill a steak.
Debbie and Jessica and Mom are getting ready for the new season of "Dancing with the Stars" which starts on Monday, March 9th.
Valentines was good. I gave Debbie flowers and a card.

This past weekend
Forgot to let you know, this past weekend, when we had both girls, they were trying to out do each other with sayings. Most about our (Mine and "B's"). We had comments, like your hair is brown, or your hair is white. Jessica had the best one, she said that my hair was comfy. Debbie and I both got a kick out of this. After that Jocelyn agreed that I had comfy hair.

BarBarQue
Well, since the weather was really nice these last two days, I BBQ'd both nights. The first night we had Steak and Grilled Asparagus, Both were very good, if you want the recipe, leave a comment and I will email it to you.
Tonight, I grilled chicken, Debbie marinated the chicken in a lemon garlic sauce and they came out very nice. Debbie also did Potatoes and onions (in Itialian dressing) in the oven and this was also very good.
We go to Josh's tomorrow (take Jessica back), if the weather is still nice, Joela might have him cook outside.

Saturday
Debbie and I took Jocelyn and Jessica to Chuck E Cheese's on Saturday night. We went because Jocelyn received a good report card from School. We had fun, it was really crowded when we got there (we actually had to wait for a table to open up), but other than that we all had fun. Jocelyn cleaned up on the Skee Ball table, Jessica just wanted to use the telephone and talk to Chuck E Cheese. We got out of there around 8 PM, then we went to Blockbuster's video and let them rent a video each. Jocelyn rented "Mama Mia" and Jessica rented "Madagascar 2". We let the girls stay up and watch "Mama Mia" and both of them stayed awake through the whole movie. I think Jocelyn had seen the movie before, but it was the first for Jessica (I think). Anyway, they went to bed around 1120 PM and were asleep by 1130. We watched "Madagascar 2" on Sunday morning, then we took Debbie to work. When the girls and I got back to the house, we went outside to play. Jocelyn played soccer with Nickolas and Emil (neighbor kids), Jessica just played by herself. She came up to me once and told me (in that Jessica manner, you know it if you have seen it), she told me that she was in Charge, I asked her who she was in charge of, expecting her to say that she was in charge of Papa (me), but she told me that she was in charge of Nickolas, (he is about a year older than her, but a real little boy, no fear and wants to be in the middle of everything, but when it comes to Jessica, he is a real little gentleman). Josh and Joely picked up the girls around 1:30. All in all we all had a real fun time.

WII Bowling
We (Jessica, Debbie, and I) played WII Bowling last night. I won both games, but the real fun was when Jessica was giving advice to her "B". She kept telling "B" to move to the right and how to throw the bowling ball. Both Debbie and I laughed out loud.
Jessica roots for everyone, and at the top of her voice. She literally screams "GO PAPA", or "GO B". It is funny.
When she gets either a Spare or a Strike, she screams I got a spare (or strike), if she gets two in a row, she says that she got a double.
She also like to play tennis, but it is not a frenzied.

Weekend
How about those Cardinal's, oops they lost, but it was a good game. Jessica picked the Steelers to win.
Debbie and I went to Josh's house for the night (no we did not just show up, we were asked, (two-fold, we also picked up Jessica)).
Josh barbecued pork chops (it was a balmy 58 degrees here in NOVA), Joela wanted BBQ'd pork chops, and they were good. We also had Rice (white and fried) and potatoe salad, it was a good meal. We then watched the game, it looked like it was going to be a blow out, but Arizona came back which surprised everyone, but alas it was not to be.
What did you think of the commercials, I really like the Mr. and Mrs Potato Head (Bridgestone tire) commercial. I thought that was funny. The Budweiser commercials were also good.
The top commercial for this years super bowl was the Dorito's commercial with the snow globe.
That's all for now.

Drs Appointments
I had my 2 doctors appointments this past week. The first one was an interrogation of the ICD device, no problems or alerts noted. The device is only pacing the upper chamber less than 1% of the time.
The appointment with the cardiologists also went well. No problems noted there either.
I had a ECG done at both appointments, and nothing was noted on either of those tests.
I have appointments set up for April and the appointment with the cardiologists will be the 5 hour nuclear stress test.
So far everything is going good.
We might have another winter event this coming Monday night into Tuesday, but so far the weather people are not predicting anything major, they say that it is too far away to say what it will be.

Winter Event
We had our first winter event of the season (at least that is what the weather people are calling it). Here is Northern VA we don't ususally get much snow, but we got about 3 inches.
Jessica and I went out twice today, She made snow angles, and threw snowballs at me, of course I had to make them, but it was a lot of fun, Jessica had a good time. I took some pictures and I will post them a little bit later. When we were getting her ready, she said she looked like a bubble.
I had my check at the Arrhythimia Associates and they said that everything was good, no pacing or any recorded events were noted.
My next one is on Thursday with the cardiologists, but that should be a good visit also.

The Proposal
"The Proposal"
When a company falls on difficult times, one of the things that seems to happen is they reduce their staff and workers. The remaining workers need to find ways to continue to do a good job or risk that their job would be eliminated as well. Wall street, and the media normally congratulate the CEO for making this type of "tough decision", and his board of directors gives him a big bonus. Our government should not be immune from similar risks. Therefore: Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to 218 members and Senate members from 100 to 50 (one per State). Also reduce remaining staff by 25%. Accomplish this over the next 8 years. (two steps / two elections) and of course this would require some redistricting. Some Yearly Monetary Gains Include:$44,108,400 for elimination of base pay for congress. (267 members X $165,200 pay / member / yr.)$97,175,000 for elimination of the above people's staff. (estimate $1.3 Million in staff per each member of the House, and $3 Million in staff per each member of the Senate every year)$240,294 for the reduction in remaining staff by 25%. $7,500,000,000 reduction in pork barrel ear-marks each year. (those members whose jobs are gone. Current estimates for total government pork earmarks are at $15 Billion / yr)The remaining representatives would need to work smarter and would need to improve efficiencies. It might even be in their best interests to work together for the good of our country? We may also expect that smaller committees might lead to a more efficient resolution of issues as well. It might even be easier to keep track of what your representative is doing. Congress has more tools available to do their jobs than it had back in 1911 when the current number of representatives was established. (telephone, computers, cell phones to name a few)Note: Congress did not hesitate to head home when it was a holiday, when the nation needed a real fix to the economic problems. Also, we have 3 senators that have not been doing their jobs for the past 18+ months (on the campaign trail) and still they all have been accepting full pay. These facts alone support a reduction in senators & congress. Summary of opportunity:$ 44,108,400 reduction of congress members.$282,100, 000 for elimination of the reduced house member staff. $150,000,000 for elimination of reduced senate member staff. $59,675,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining house members. $37,500,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining senate members. $7,500,000,000 reduction in pork added to bills by the reduction of congress members. $8,073,383,400 per year, estimated total savings. (that's 8-BILLION just to start!)Big business does these types of cuts all the time.If Congresspersons were required to serve 20, 25 or 30 years (like everyone else) in order to collect retirement benefits there is no telling how much we would save. Now they get full retirement after serving only ONE term.

Josh is going to try to work on a program for cataloging coins along with a price list.
Debbie and I painted the master bedroom last week. It came out pretty good.
